Sultan Ibrahim leads annual Johor expedition

JOHOR BARU: Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar kicked off the Kembara Mahkota Johor, an annual Johor Royal expedition tour at Dataran Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) here today.

He drove the blue color Mack truck, which has became the spotlight of the event. The truck, a custom-made Super Liner, was estimated to cost around RM1.4 million, making it among the world's most expensive truck.

Earlier, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said people around the state are waiting for the appearance of Sultan Ibrahim in their area.
“It is a unique way for the Sultan to get closer with the rakyat," he said.

The 19th edition of the expedition tour will cover about 842km route through some main towns in 10 districts in the following four days till May 17.
Sultan’s consort Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar; Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar were also present at the departure ceremony this morning.
The state speaker Tan Sri Mohamaed Aziz flagged off the convoy. The convoy consists of three Mack trucks, two buses, 35 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and 10 four-wheel drive vehicles.
