RHB Banking Group has already begun to revolutionaise the mobile banking industrywith its new add-on feature to its existing RHB Now app.
OLD APP, NEW ‘THANG’
The first-in-the-market addition, RHB Pay Anyone™ can now give customers the option to send money seamlessly via mobile numbers, email and even Facebook. Gone are the days of memorising and writing down long bank account numbers to transfer money as features on the app help shorten the banking process, at the same time maintain secure transactions for all parties. According to RHB Banking Group group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh, recent statistics released by Bank Negara Malaysia indicated that mobile banking penetration has increased from 5.3% in 2011 to 23.5% at the end of 2015. Aptly, RHB’s efforts, which are to adapt to the current changes of today’s trends among its customers, coincide with the direction mobile banking is progressing towards.
“The RHB Now mobile banking app provides our customers with a simple, fast and seamless platform to manage their banking transactions. This is a significant milestone in our digital journey and our commitment to become the next generation digital bank,” added Khairussaleh. RHB’s mobile banking app offers a range of exciting features that allow customers to perform various banking transactions and payments on their iOS and Android smartphones. In fact, the app is designed to for easier transaction processes. Frequently used functions will be put forward and customers can even “customise” their “favourite” transactions in MyFavs.
21ST CENTURY DEVELOPMENT
The widespread use of social media today has prompted RHB to keep up with fast-paced and digital-inclined lifestyles. Khairussaleh mentioned in his speech, of RHB’s Digital Strategy, where it managed to create a digital eco-system around the lifestyle and financial needs of its customers. With RHB Now, innovative payment gateways cater to the modern accelerated lifestyles and today’s speedy and efficient banking needs. All it takes is six steps and clicks to transfer money!
Facebook friends can now transfer money to each other. The app’s mobile number and email options provide users with extraordinary convenience. By simply choosing any number or email address on one’s smartphone contact list, money can be transferred minus the conventional multi-step processes that require an awful amount of time and effort.
The beauty about this feature is that the receiving party need not be an RHB customer. As an added security measure, a passcode is required before each and every transaction is made.
Launched early in May, the exciting move allows RHB Now users to customise and bump recurring activity into a shortcut tab to expedite regular transactions. This helps reduce time and enables users to better manage their money while on the move.
SMART, SOCIABLE BANKING
A complementing attribute to the app is the option of using a profile picture. This gives a more friendly and personal feel to the app.
RHB also added a Lifestyle Privileges component to the app. This serves as a value-added feature providing discounts on purchases made via the app, even allowing purchases to be conveniently delivered to the doorstep. Loyalty programme benefits and exclusive deals are also incorporated.
