GEORGE TOWN: A 1.5m long King Cobra captured on Sunday has been released back into the wild today.
The reptile was captured by the Penang Fire and Rescue Department after being informed by the public about 11am that day.
A spokesman said the snake was easily caught as it was found lying by the roadside at Paya Terubong here.
"The snake has been released," the spokesman told the media.
Last month, a 7.5m python was captured at a construction site near there but subsequently died.
