AG's report on 1MDB classified under OSA 1972

KUALA LUMPUR: The Auditor-General's (AG) report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) was classified under the Official Secrets Act 1972 to ensure there was no leakage during the Public Accounts Committee proceedings.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the audit report on 1MDB was specifically for PAC only.
"The audit report carried out by the AG's department was only tabled to the PAC, in line with the cabinet's decision on March 4 for the AG to carry out an audit on 1MDB.
"The PAC would then use the audit report as a reference to prepare the PAC report on 1MDB's management, which was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat on April 7," she said in reply to an oral question posted by Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz (DAP- Raub).
Mohd Ariff questioned why the AG's report was not given to the MPs and why it was classified under the OSA.
