Deputy Works Minister: Guan Eng should be grateful

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Works Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin (pix) lambasted Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for not being grateful of federal government's efforts to develop the state.
She said the government has always practiced open governance and never neglected any states in the country.
"We have no intention to trouble any state and we always uphold the practice of open governance. The Works Minister is very open and always helpful, regardless of the state or which political party rules the state," she added.
Speaking to reporters after officiating the Asean Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Show 2016 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Rosnah said her Ministry had always tried to help Penang in whatever ways it possibly could.
"I don't have the details but my ministry has once approved close to RM1 billion just for projects to ease traffic congestion in Penang alone," she said.
She was responding to Lim's call to the Federal Government to approve its application for a third bridge to be build linking the island and mainland.
Lim said the state would find its own source of money to build the proposed bridge which connects Gurney Drive and Bagan Ajam.
He added the cost to build the third bridge would be cheaper as compared to the much discussed undersea tunnel project.
