KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) is all out to win in the by-elections on its own merits and not on the strategies used by the opposition during their campaigns.
Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin (pix) who chaired the youth wing exco meeting today said the youths were all geared to face the two by-elections and the challenges that come with it.
He said that the party's machinery will adhere to the election's rules and will not fall to the Opposition's "samseng attitude".
"The main importance is to win," he said in a news conference held at Umno headquarters.
When asked by the media if the last 13th general election (GE13), which BN won by a slim majority of 399, was due to internal issues within the party, Khairy said it was due to many factors.
He said their focus would be to win over the Chinese community in the two constituencies.
