Man who was shot when picking up children manages to drive to hospital to seek treatment

PETALING JAYA: A man who was shot at while walking towards a kindergarten to pick up his children, managed to hop into his car and drive to the University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for treatment.
In the 11.30am incident at Jalan Selangor today, the 41-year-old man was trailed by two men on a motorcycle, when he alighted from his vehicle, the suspects approached and fired two shots at him.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said one of the bullets hit the victim's left thigh.
"After the victim was shot, he managed to run to the kindergarten and pick up his children before driving to PPUM to get treatment.
"His condition is stable," Mohd Zani told reporters at a press conference at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters today.
Mohd Zani declined to reveal the age and gender of the victim's children.
He said police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the incident.
"We are looking at all angles to investigate the case as there were no closed-circuit television in the area," he added.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 307 for attempted murder.
