GEORGE TOWN: Former Kelantan and JDT head coach Bojan Hodak has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Penang Football Association (FAP) in an effort to revive the club's fortunes to stay in the Malaysian Super League (MSL).
FAP president Dato Seri Nazir Ariff when announcing the news said Bojan will be overseeing the team's new organisation structure.
He also announced Nenad Bacina as the team manager of the club who will be in charge of the team's tactical training.
Nazir said the team's goal is to stay in the league next season.
"They will manage the team according to their style and to ensure the survival of the team in the league.
"As a CEO he will gain 100 % control of the team and he will have the full authority to do what he can to improve the performance of the team," he told reporters in a press conference at FAP's headquarters today.
Speaking about his plans for Penang, Bojan said his aim is to be in the top flight of the league.
"First thing now is we are going to do an analysis on why we are at the bottom of the league.
"We will also do an analysis on the players before deciding anything else," he said.
The Penang team currently sits at the bottom of the Super League with 7 points.
They have played 12 matches to date and only won one, drawing four and losing seven with the second half of the league to commence on July 16 against T-Team in an away match.
