Two motorcycle theft syndicate members held in Bukit Mertajam

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have arrested two self-employed men, believed to be members of a motorcycle theft syndicate, in a crime prevention operation around Central Seberang Prai overnight.
Central Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said in the operation from 10pm until 2am, they had conducted an inspection at a house here and arrested two men, in their 20s.
"Initial investigations found that the syndicate has been active in the district and police are tracking down other members of the syndicate," he said here today.
Rusli said following the arrest, police also seized various dismantled motorcycle components, which are believed would later be sold at cheaper prices. — Bernama
