THE next James Bond film will have a decidedly different feel from the previous two instalments, after director Sam Mendes announced that he will not return to direct the next film in the Bond franchise.
Mendes directed the critically acclaimed Skyfall and Spectre which grossed nearly US$2 billion (RM8.23 billion) at box offices worldwide.
But at the Hay festival in Wales over the weekend, Mendes said it's time to move on.
"It was an incredible adventure, I loved every second of it. But I think it's time for somebody else," reported The Guardian.
"I'm a storyteller. And, at the end of the day, I want to make stories with new characters."
In addition to a new director, the next Bond film may star a new lead in the iconic role with reports that Daniel Craig is ready to hand over the baton as well. Names that have been throw in the ring include Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Jamie Bell. — AFP Relaxnews
