Mexter Tech, Raya International queried

PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia Securities yesterday issued unusual market activity (UMA) queries to both Mexter Technology Bhd and Raya International Bhd.
In separate announcements, the market regulator queried Mexter on the sharp rise in price and high volume of the information technology company’s shares recently.
At the lunch break yesterday, Mexter’s share price was 28%, or 4 sen, higher, at 16 sen, with 18.9 million units traded. It ended at 19 sen for a 48% gain on volume of 29.9 million shares.
Mexter’s warrants topped the most active list yesterday, surging 130%, or 6.5 sen, to settle at 11.5 sen.
Meanwhile, Raya International, which makes air and water filters, was asked to explain the recent surge in the trading volume of its shares.
Its share price gained 1 sen, or 1.41%, to 36 sen with 17.65 million shares traded yesterday.
