Four men nabbed for fishing without permit off Pontian

JOHOR BARU: The Marine Operation Force detained four men including two Indonesians for fishing without permit two nautical miles off Pontian beach yesterday.
Region Two Commander ACP Paul Khiu Khon Chiang said in a statement here today, all of them aged between 35 and 50 years were picked up at 3.30pm.
"Two boats laden with 50kg of fish and prawns worth about RM15,000 were also seized," he said adding that the four men were detained for fishing without valid licence under the Fisheries Act 1985.
The case was then handed to Pontian Fisheries Department for further action. — Bernama
