Missing elderly man who went looking for mushrooms found dead

BESUT: An elderly man who went missing after going out to pick mushrooms yesterday afternoon was found dead in a boat at Sungai Tembila this morning.
Besut police chief Supt Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the victim was identified as Ismail Salleh, 72, from Kampung Tembila, near here.
He said the victim was believed to gone out at around 2pm to look for mushrooms in a bush not far off from his house.
"His family members lodged a police report at Kampung Raja police station when the victim failed to return home by 8pm last night.
"Rescuers finally found the victim at 9.10am in a boat belonging to a vilager, lying face down with his head in the water," he told reporters here today.
The body was later taken to Besut Hospital for post mortem, he added. — Bernama
