2 cloned cars among 31 vehicles impounded by RTD

KUALA LUMPUR: Two cloned cars were among 31 vehicles impounded by the Road Transport Department (RTD) for various offences early today.

Its Kuala Lumpur branch director, Datuk Md Ziki A. Rahman said the department had also impounded a garbage truck and 25 motorcycles in the special joint operation with several enforcement agencies in Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Genting Klang.

The RTD issued a total of 701 summonses after screening 900 vehicles in the four-hour operation which began at 11pm.

"No driving licence, expired driving licence and failure to display probationary sticker were among the common offences (detected during the operation)," Md Ziki told Bernama.

The operation involved 137 officers and personnel from the police, customs, immigration, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Land Public Transport Commission and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall. — Bernama
