21 year-old man slashed and battered over affair

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was severely injured after he was battered and slashed by a group of assailants at the Intan Baiduri's People Housing Project (PPR) here on Friday.
Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the incident occurred at about 4.50am on the 17th floor of the building.
"The 21-year-old victim, who is unemployed, was assaulted by three men who broke into his unit.
"He was slashed several times on the head and hands and was sent to the Selayang Hospital for treatment," Munusamy said in a statement today.
According to Munusamy, the victim is now in stable condition after surgery.
"Investigators learnt that the incident was due to dissatisfaction with the victim who had an affair with one of the assailant's girlfriend," he added.
It is learnt that the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing severe injury.
