KUALA KANGSAR: Two men in their 30s surrendered themselves at the district police headquarters last night, claiming that they had paraglided here last Sunday during the nomination for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election.

They also handed over the paragliding equipment when they came to the police station at about 10.30pm, said the police spokesman for the Kuala Kangsar by-election, ACP Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latiff.

"They admitted that they were the paragliders who hovered above the Silver Jubilee Hall during the nomination process," he said in a statement here.

Shaharon Anuar said the police seized the equipment and, after recording statements from them, released them on police bail.

"Investigation into the incident is ongoing under Regulation 143 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016," he said.

Police found out that the paragliders did not have approval from the Department of Civil Aviation. — Bernama
