GEORGE TOWN: Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has thanked all parties who wished him well after he fell ill and went through an intestinal surgery at the Penang Hospital yesterday.
Kedah State Secretary Datuk Bakar Din said the mentri besar was recovering and if there were no complications, he would be transferred to a normal ward soon.
"The specialists will decide (if he can be released from the ICU). Now the mentri besar must rest, he must first regain his health.
"The running of the state administration goes on as usual under those responsible in Kedah," he told reporters after visiting Ahmad Bashah at Penang Hospital, here, today.
Ahmad Bashah was transferred to Penang Hospital from the Kedah Medical Centre (KMC), Alor Star as the hospital has the latest and complete equipment to treat him.
The mentri besar was previously treated at KMC after he felt faint during a meeting of Kedah Barisan Nasional assemblymen at Grand Alora Hotel in Alor Star at about 7pm last Saturday. — Bernama
