CCM denies KOP1M offers 1Malaysia personal loan scheme

KUALA LUMPUR: The Cooperatives Commission of Malaysia (CCM) today refuted that Koperasi 1Malaysia Berhad (KOP1M) is offering the 1Malaysia Personal Loan Scheme as promoted in Facebook.
In a statement issued here, CCM said it had investigated the matter following complaints from the public on the individual promoting the loan scheme and who also claimed to be a KOP1M officer.
"KOP1M is not allowed to carry out such a personal loan financing activity and has never offered such a loan scheme, whether through its own cooperatives or through any individual or agent," CCM said in the statement.
According to the statement, the individual involved is offering the loan scheme on the condition that the applicant pays a minimum loan cost of RM300, subject to the loan amount applied for and the cost payment should go into the individual's account to enable immediate approval, within less than 24 hours.
CCM's advice to the public is for them to be wary of such a loan offer or any other ridiculous offers using KOP1M or any registered cooperative's name without first getting confirmation from CCM.
Members of the public with information or queries on the personal loan offer should contact CCM staff Rosmawati Hassan at 03-20834056 or fax to 03-20934105.Bernama
