Bakti to distribute food worth RM522k to security personnel on duty during Raya

KUALA LUMPUR: The Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers' (Bakti) will distribute 55,000 boxes of goodies, worth RM522,500, to security forces personnel who will be on duty during the Hari Raya festival.
The Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is also Bakti president, was at the association's building in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here today helping to prepare the packages with some 150 volunteers from University Malaya, youth organisations and personnel from the armed forces and police.
She said some members of the security forces will be on duty during the holidays to continue to safeguard the country's security.
She also expressed her admiration to the efforts of the volunteers, especially the youth, who came to help out annually and hoped more would do so in future.
The goodies, consisting of rendang daging, sambal ikan bilis, kuah kacang and nasi impit, will be distributed to security forces officers at a ceremony here on Monday.
