SUNGAI BESAR: Pakatan Harapan is willing to befriend members of PAS and Umno as long as it can achieve its target to bring down the current government.
DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang (pix) said the opposition coalition did not hold a grudge against members of both parties.
He added the only issue it had against Umno and PAS was with their current leaderships.
"We are not an enemy to PAS and Umno members. We only disagree with their leaderships, especially Najib (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak)," he said.
"We want to be friends with PAS and Umno members. We hope they will be with us in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar to save Malaysia," he said in his speech during a ceramah last night at the Restoran Kuala Kurau here.
He said the only way to save the country was by having members of all political parties to join hands and unite.
Lim also stressed that the battle for Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-elections is a battle between Umno and Amanah alone.
Sidelining PAS from the three-cornered fight, Lim said that the Islamist party would risk polling much lesser votes as compared to its performance in the previous election.
"Many had thought that Amanah would be an underdog in both by-elections," he said.
"But now, it is clear that the contest in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar is between Amanah and Umno," he added.
