GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the state government is ready to submit all documents concerning the proposed third Penang bridge to the Ministry of Works if approval is given.
"We are ready to provide whatever information we have, including the plan to build a bridge from Georgetown to Bagan Ajam when Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu was the works minister.
"We can use it as a guide and feasibility study for the undersea tunnel. It can be used as the feasibility study is not related to specification, technical and structure," he told a press conference after presenting CitiTruck to Penang Science Cluster, here today.
Yesterday, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the ministry would give fair assessment of the proposed third Penang bridge and sought the cooperation of the state government to share the documents.
On May 26, Guan Eng sent a letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to get approval for the third Penang bridge, in response to questions about the proposed undersea tunnel project. — Bernama
