2 Thai nationals among 23 nabbed for drug-related offences in Langkawi

LANGKAWI: Two Thai nationals were among 23 people nabbed for various drug-related offences here in a week-long narcotics operation which ended today.
Langkawi police chief Superintendent Dr Che Ghazali Che Awang said police seized heroin weighing 1.83kg, syabu (106.29g), ketum water (100mm), WY or "pil kuda" (84 pieces) and Erimin 5 pills (two pieces) in the operation dubbed "Jihad Memerangi Dadah" programme.
"Four (of the total) individuals (nabbed) are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking," he told a press conference here today.
He said the police also seized RM8,434 from the four individuals, believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs.
"The total amount of drugs seized in this operation can supply about 9,000 drug addicts," he added. — Bernama
