Police to investigate Atomic bomb 'threat' by Rafizi

KUALA KANGSAR: The police have opened an investigation paper on Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Rafizi Ramli over an allegedly threatening statement against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the investigation paper had been opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code for threatening.
"We will summon Rafizi to record his statement in the near future. Although he said it was just a joke, it is a threat," he told reporters after checking on the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election early voting process at Dewan Tun Salleh Ismael, the Kuala Kangsar district police headquarters police housing complex, here today.
During his ceramah in Kuala Kangsar last Thursday, Rafizi was reported as saying '(he) wanted to throw an atomic bomb' at the Prime Minister. Four police reports were also lodged against Rafizi over his alleged threatening statement.
On the by-election process, Abdul Rahim said police had received 16 reports on election misconduct and had opened six investigation papers since nomination day on June 5 until Monday.
"We will complete the investigation papers as soon as possible and refer them to the state legal director for further action," he said. — Bernama
