KUALA KANGSAR: A brief commotion broke out outside the Parti Amanah Negara operations centre here today when an aide to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the prime minister's wife, showed up for a press conference by PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.
Rosmah's aide Datuk Rizal Mansor and several unidentified men had tried to force themselves into the operations centre as Rafizi began his press conference.
However, several Amanah staff stopped them from doing so and subsequently a verbal confrontation ensued between them.
Rizal and his group were later seen leaving the premises after they were told that the press conference was only for invited media personnel.
At his press conference, Rafizi claimed that there was unhappiness in Kuala kangsar Umno over the choice of Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid as the Barisan Nasional candidate.
"It is clear that a large section of Umno and the grassroots in this constituency does not endorse or support her candidacy," Rafizi claimed.
Recently Kuala Kangsar Umno division chief Datuk Ramli Zahari had reportedly voiced his disappointment on the selection of Mastura as the candidate.
He was reported to have said that he felt disappointed but was not sulking over the decision to field the wife of the late MP Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad.
