MADRID: Russian international midfielder Denis Cheryshev agreed a five-year deal on Wednesday to move to Villarreal from European champions Real Madrid where he had played since his junior days.
"Villarreal and Real Madrid reached an agreement for the transfer of Russia's Denis Cheryshev who will wear our jersey for the next five years until June 2021," said Villarreal in a statement.
Cheryshev, 25, played for Villarreal on loan in the 2014-2015 season having joined Real as a 12-year-old.
He has missed Euro 2016 with injury. — AFP
