FB user nabbed for comments against TMJ

JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested a Facebook user who allegedly posted discriminatory remarks against Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
In a statement issued to the media today, Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the man was arrested at about 12.50pm at Taman Bukit Bendera in Mentakab.
He said police also seized two tablets belonging to the suspect for further investigations following a report which was lodged on June 2.
Wan Ahmad said the case will be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which provides for a maximum fine of RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to a year, or both, upon conviction.
He added that Johor police have set up a task force to monitor and identify abusive comments posted on social media.
