JOHOR BARU: Johor Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry enforcement officers seized 33 songkoks with a fake logo of the Johor Darul Ta'zim football club from a Ramadan stall at Taman Suria here on Sunday.

Its deputy enforcement chief Rizq Fazliana Abdul Hamid told the media here today the songkok, in blue and red and with the logo, was sold at RM65 each.
A 30-year-old staff of the stall had his statement recorded by the enforcement team.
The offence under the Trade Description Act 2011 carries a maximum RM10,000 fine for each item using a fake logo or up to three years jail or both upon conviction, for a first offender. For a second offence, the penalty is a maximum RM20,000 fine for each item using a fake logo, or up to five years jail or both.
Southern Tiger Sdn Bhd general manager Raja Fouzeel Akmal said the company did not produce any songkok products and the use of the logo on the songkoks violate the company's patent rights.
He believed the songkok with the fake logo has been in the market for two years.
