Actor-cum-model fined RM800 for hurting executive

KUALA LUMPUR: Model Ahya Ulumuddin Rosli or Ahya U Rosli was fined RM800 by the Magistrate's Court here today for voluntarily causing hurt on an executive.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid handed down the sentence on Ahya, who also acted in the film "Tanda Putera", after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Ahya, who is the son of actress Normah Damanhuri, paid the fine.
He was charged with causing hurt on Mohamad Asrul Affendi Roseli, 31, by punching him several times on the face, resulting in the victim to suffer injuries on the eyebrow, lips and cheeks.
The offence was committed at a car park at the Sentral Mark futsal court, Setapak here, at 11.30pm last June 14.
The charge, under Section 323 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to a year and fine not exceeding RM2,000 or both, upon conviction.
During mitigation, Ahya, represented by lawyer Ahmad Ridza Mohd Noh, said he could not control his emotions when angry.
