JOHOR BARU: Police crippled a syndicate known as "Geng Anak Bapak" that has been actively involved in carjacking, with the capture of three members here, on Monday.
North Johor Baru Police chief ACP Mohd Taib Ahmad said the three who were detained included a father and son.
He said they were arrested at Skudai Kiri in Tampoi here, at about 5.20pm, as a follow up to the arrest of four members of the gang on June 18 at the same place.
Mohd Taib said police would seek to remand all three for 14 days to facilitate investigations.
"When police arrested four members of the gang, a lorry that was reported stolen in Taman Universiti and equipment were seized. Initial investigations revealed that all four suspects tested positive for morphine and
had criminal records related to drugs and carjacking," he said in a statement here, today. — Bernama
