DAP politician harassed by stalker

PETALING JAYA: Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin revealed that she has been the target of a stalker for the past three years.
In a Facebook posting today, the DAP politician said her car had been sprayed with red paint by the stalker on two occasions.
She said the incident took place on the night after she returned home from the by-election campaign in Sungai Besar.
"He (the stalker) has been disturbing me, my family and office for the past three years by sending us repeated messages and robot-call hundreds of times on our mobiles and office phones.
"Sometimes, he would even put items such as notes or breakfast on their cars," she said
The threats allegedly became worst when the stalker started spraying her car and demanded that she meet and reply him.
Yeo said she had reported him to the police three times this year, adding that the first case which she reported in March is under investigation.
She said the man who was remanded for about three to four days will be released soon.
Yeo said she lodged the first police report on March 22 after one of her employees received a phone call from a man who claimed he was a former DAP member.
She said she also received several threatening emails and Whatsapp messages from the person.
One email in particular read: "If you take care of both of them and are responsible to them, nobody will be getting hurt."
Another email sent on May 27, 2015 supposedly said: "Once again, be aware of your car. You will receive something again, but hopefully not accident or car breakdown. Sixth sense told me something will happen."
Yeo has also lodged a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
"Since 2013, I have been consistently disturbed by this man. He has gone to the extent of disturbing my sister's office and mine.
"My office is a service centre and because of the calls that he makes daily, nobody could reach the office and hence my office has consistently received complaints."
Attempts to contact the Petaling Jaya district police for further comments on the investigation proved futile at press time.
