Sinead O'Connor denies suicidal report as 'malicious gossip'

SINEAD O'Connor resurfaced on social media Friday a day after Chicago police received a tip the Irish singer may be suicidal and threatening to jump off a bridge.
In a Facebook post, O'Connor denied the rumors as "a bit of false and malicious gossip."
The Chicago Police Department told AFP Thursday it had sent an "advisory message" to its units to be on the lookout for the musician.
According to US media, a Dublin police sergeant contacted Chicago authorities earlier in the day to warn that O'Connor had spoken of throwing herself off a bridge in the city.
But the 49-year-old songstress posted on Facebook that she was "far too f–-ing happy for that!"
O'Connor created a stir last month when she failed to return from a bicycle ride in Chicago, but was ultimately found safe in the city's suburbs one day later.
The singer, known for her strong views, has recently posted a string of messages on Facebook that have raised alarm.
Late last year, she suggested she had tried to kill herself with an overdose.
Following her May disappearance, her Facebook page temporarily vanished from the site after a series of disturbing posts, including one that read: "Every one of you had better pray I die."
O'Connor won critical acclaim for her haunting voice and style, especially on her first two albums, The Lion and the Cobra and I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got.
She is best known for Nothing Compares 2 U, a ballad written by pop legend Prince, who died in April. — AFP
