PETALING JAYA: A fast food delivery worker was slashed to death in a playground at Jalan SS 3/26, Taman Universiti, following a scuffle with unknown assailants in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the 33-year-old victim's body was discovered by a group of senior citizens who were exercising at the park.
"The victim, who lives in Kelana Jaya, was a frequent visitor to the playground with his friends. It is believed that they will regularly have drinks there.
"We are tracking down his friends, as based on the slash wounds we believe there are more than one suspect who slashed the victim," Mohd Zani said when met at the scene.
"His personal belongings were not missing and two motorcycles were left abandoned at the scene," he added.
Mohd Zani said the victim was believed to have been slashed with a sharp object, believed to be a parang.
He said the victim suffered slash wounds on the abdomen, elbow, head and back.
He said a K9 and forensics team have been dispatched to the scene to assist in investigations.
