PETALING JAYA: A total 5,600 signatures and an objection letter have been submitted to City Hall today by Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) residents.
Its residential association chairman Abdul Hafiz Abu Bakar told theSun that the signatures were collected during a peaceful protest held at the Taman Rimba Kiara (TRK) public park last Sunday.
The residents are protesting the proposed development of service apartments to be built on the 4.9ha land.
He said upon submission of the signatures, City Hall will arrange for a public hearing with the residents in accordance with the Town and Planning Country Act.
"We hope the total number of signatures obtained will be sufficient to justify our protest," he added.
He reiterated his call to City Hall to halt the project and upgrade the homes of those living in the long-house.
Mayor Datuk Seri Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz had reportedly said the development does not involve the gazetted park.
