KUALA LUMPUR: A 'Bazaar Ramadhan' hawker was fined RM1,500 in default three months' jail by the Magistrate's court here today for threatening a KK-Mart employee last week.
Mohammad Suhaimei Zakaria, 26, pleaded guilty to threatening to kill and dismember Maureen Lanying at the Danau Kota KK-Mart in Wangsa Maju at 8.24pm on June 24.
The threat left Lanying, 29, terrified and shaken.
In mitigation, Mohammad Suhaimei who was unrepresented, urged magistrate Mahyudin Mohammad Som to impose a light sentence as he had to take care of his wife and two daughters.
Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zikri Jaafar urged the court to impose a sentence befitting the crime as the victim was emotionally traumatised.
According to the facts of the case, Lanying had informed the wife of the accused that the couple's son had been stealing from the store.
The court was told that instead of disciplining the son, Mohammad Suhaimei took matters into his own hands and threatened Lanying. — Bernama
