SUNGAI PETANI: Kedah Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah is scheduled to resume his official duty on Sunday as his health is improving.
His political secretary, Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said, however, medical experts had advised Ahmad Bashah to resume work slowly.
"The Mentri Besar is healthy and he is scheduled to chair the State Exco Meeting on July 3, (Sunday) at Wisma Darul Aman, followed by a 'moreh' program with the media and another program the next day.
"At the moment, he is still resting at home. Doctors advised him to begin slowly," he told reporters when met at a function at the Sungai Petani Municipal Council building, here today.
Shaiful Hazizy said Ahmad Bashah, however, still needed to go for follow-up treatment at the hospital but the frequency of the treatment was still uncertain.
Earlier, Ahmad Bashah was reported to have blacked out while attending a meeting at the Hotel Grand Alora, Alor Setar on June 4 before being rushed to the Kedah Medical Centre and referred to Hospital Pulau Pinang (HPP) on the following day.
While being warded at the HPP, Ahmad Bashah had undergone surgery due to intestinal complication. — Bernama
