Three M'sian golfers on the verge of qualifying for Rio Olympics

KUALA LUMPUR: Three Malaysian golfers have almost assured their places in the 2016 Rio Olympics in August based on their top 60 placings in the latest Olympic Golf Ranking.
Malaysian golf team manager Vincent Wong said the players are Kelly Tan, Michelle Koh and veteran Danny Chia.
"We have another tournament for the men and two more tournaments for our ladies. I'm confident if Gavin Kyle Green showcases good results at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (in Taiwan) starting today, he will have a better chance to seal a spot in the Rio Olympics," he said.
Wong was speaking to reporters after attending a sponsorship pledge for the Malaysian contingent, here today.
He noted that the decision by a number of top golfers to pull out from the Rio Olympics would not give a major impact to the preparation of Malaysian golfers for the Games. — Bernama
