Student 'groomed' by teacher to get counselling

    PETALING JAYA: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will send a team of counsellors to assist the rehabilitation of a student who allegedly sent nude photos of herself to her school teacher.
    A source from the ministry told theSun that they are well aware of the incident and are in the midst of obtaining more information from the relevant authorities prior to dispatching the counselling team.
    The source added that the counselling session would also be extended to the student's family as well.
    The alleged incident which took place in Penang came to light during a roundtable meeting on protecting children by the Women's Centre for Change (WCC).
    Its executive director Loh Cheng Kooi said the teacher was alleged to have groomed one of his students to send him nude pictures of herself.
    She said though the alleged grooming had been going on for three years, the mother of the student only found out what was happening earlier this year.
    Loh said the teacher was still teaching at the school in Penang, but did not disclose the name, and urged for action to be taken.
