KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said yesterday it has been receiving regular updates from its Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG) on the situation following reports of an attempted military coup in Turkey.
"We are glad to inform that all our ISG staff and their families are safe," it said in a statement here.
MAHB said based on the latest information from its staff at ISG, the airport operations are still continuing to process incoming flights and some departures.
However, the situation is still fluid and passengers are advised to check with the respective airlines on scheduled flights in and out of ISG and all Turkish flights to and from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"The airport management is doing its best to provide comfort and assistance to all passengers within the terminal premises. We continue to exercise vigilant security and safety surveillance at the airport and will update on any major developments," said MAHB. – Bernama
