325 Kedah flood victims still sheltered at evacuation centres

ALOR STAR: Three hundred and twenty-five people from 83 families in four districts, Yan, Kuala Muda, Baling and Pendang are still sheltered at flood evacuation centres as at 8am today.
The number is lower, compared to 480 yesterday.
State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat officer, Mejar(PA) Imran Azemi said one new centre was opened at Dewan Kompleks Sukan Tanah Merah, Pendang around 5pm yesterday to shelter 62 flood victims from 15 families.
He said the centres at Surau kampung Lubuk Boi (Yan), Dewan KEDA and Surau Kampung Tepi Laut (Kuala Muda), Surau Kampung Batu 5, Surau Kampung Sungai Rotan and Surau Kampung Guar Stesen in Gurun have already been closed.
"The centres at Kampung Seputeh and Surau Kampung Air Tawar in Baling have also been closed," he said in a statement today.
Imran said five evacuation centres remained open in the district of Yan where 231 people from 61 families are still staying at Surau Teroi Bukit (100), Masjid Titi Teras (38), Surau Nurul Huda Batu 18 (10), Surau Kampung Batu 22 (65) and Surau Kampung Setar (18).
He said one evacuation centre remained open in Baling district involving 32 people from seven families. — Bernama
