PETALING JAYA: Participants will get a chance to dress up as a super hero and put his or her best foot forward with MERCY Malaysia's third International Humanitarian Run, #myMERCYrun.
Themed "Run Like A Superhero" the run will take place on Sunday (July 24) at Padang Merbok and will leverage the heroic efforts of those who are willing to help one another in times of need, similar to MERCY Malaysia's humanitarian work.
Former deejay Datuk Yasmin Yusoff will host the run and word is out that she will be dressed up as her own version of a Malaysian super hero, "Puteri Kilat" (Lightening Princess).
Yasmin, famous for her cheery "Good morning, good morning, good morning!" during her time in Radio 4, will be the emcee and celebrity advocate for the run hosted by Mercy Malaysia.
"I hopes that Malaysians will come forward to help the cause as well as be part of the fun. Running seems to be a 'thing' now, and this run ties in with a good cause, which is even better," she told theSun.
The run will feature three non-competitive categories — 3km, 7km, and 15km — to accommodate participants of various fitness levels and age groups and to date there are 1,507 registered participants.
Participants have been requested to be present at Padang Merbok at 6.15am for warm-ups before the event commences.
Amongst the performers lined up to entertain the crowd on the day includes Ady Suwardy, Fhara Mohd and Altimet.
Being a super hero themed run, there will be prizes given out for best dressed male, best dressed female, best selfie, and best wefie as well as games and lucky draws.
