Policeman found dead with gunshot would in chest

KOTA KINABALU: A police corporal was found dead today at an apartment in Cyber City here with a gunshot wound in the chest.
Sabah CID chief Datuk Salehhudin Abdul Rahman said the body of the 31-year-old policeman from Johor was found lying in the living room by policemen who responded to a call about an explosion at the apartment at 9.40am.
He told reporters at the scene that a preliminary investigation revealed that the policeman had had a quarrel with his wife and they had been involved in a struggle.
Salehhudin said a Steyr pistol was found at the scene, and the body was sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
He said the policeman's wife, a housewife, would be asked to assist the police in the investigation into the death.
The couple's five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son were at home during the incident, he added. — Bernama
