GEORGE TOWN: Penang Gerakan has called for a last-minute meeting to discuss the party's preparation in the event of snap polls in the state.
State Gerakan chairman Teng Chang Yeow (pix) said the party would prepare its machinery to face the state election should it be called anytime from now.
" We are ready on our side," he told a press conference before the party's emergency meeting at its headquarters in Jalan Macalister.
Teng, nonetheless, said the party's national leadership under its president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong would have the final say on candidates.
Menwhile, Teng also expressed his condolences to former party president and former Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon on the demise of his wife Puan Sri Chui Kah Peng from lung cancer.
"She played a significant role in Koh's political career," he said, adding that Chui was a friendly and nice person.
