GEORGE TOWN: Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow (pix) said it will be a tall order for the eventual successor of current Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to emulate his success if he is convicted and jailed for corruption.
Chow said all DAP members must rise up to the challenge and continue the good work that Lim started since 2008.
"I salute Guan Eng for his success, dedication and commitment to a better Malaysia.
"It would be a great challenge to fill the void," he said in a statement released today.
Chow also reiterated the party's stand that the snap election is not about saving the chief minister's position but to save Malaysia from a bleak future.
"The country is at a crossroads presently, we are returning the power to the people to decide not only a new mandate but to restore faith and hope for our country", he said.
A proposed snap election has been mooted by the state government after Lim was charged with corruption.
