Market conditions to remain challenging in the 2nd half : Bursa Malaysia

    KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd CEO Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan expects market conditions to remain challenging in the second half of this year.
    Speaking to reporters at a briefing on its first half results today, he said the impact from the issues that affected the market during the first half of the year are expected to remain in the second half of the year.
    "Despite challenging market conditions, our Patami for first half of 2016 is the best first half results since 2008," Tajuddin said.
    He said foreign inflows were strong during the first quarter but was affected by various events during the second quarter namely the announcement of a new central bank governor, Brexit, MSCI rebalancing and palm oil prices.
    The total net foreign outflow for the first half of the year stood at RM100 million.
