Two men charged with terrorism-related activities

KUALA LUMPUR: A dispatch personnel was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with two terrorism-related activities.
Fazar Nor Md Reduan, 33, allegedly supported terrorists' use of explosives to promote their idealogy and action to threaten the public in Malaysia.
He is accused of committing the offence through the Telegram app in his mobile phone at a house at Blok 11, AU 3/1, Ulu Kelang here between April and June 28.
The charge under Section 130J(1)(b) of the Penal Code, carries a life sentence of not more than 30 years on conviction, or a fine or forfeiture of property that were used in the commission of the offence.
Fazar is accused on another charge of possession of Islamic State (IS) paraphernalia in front of Liberty Insurans Berhad Taman Danau Kota, Off Jalan Genting Klang here at 1.20pm on June 28.
The charge under Section 130JB(1)(a) of the Penal Code, carries a jail sentence of up to seven years or a fine or forfeiture of any of the items upon conviction.
Magistrate Siti Radziah Kamarudin fixed Sept 7 for re-mention. Deputy public prosecutor Noor Syazwani Mohamad Sobry conducted the prosecution.
At the Ampang Magistrate's court, another man, Mohd Asrol Mohamad, 29, was similarly charged with supporting terrorists' use of explosives to promote their idealogy and action to threaten the public in Malaysia.
He allegedly committed the offence through the Telegram app in his mobile phone at No.76, Jalan Dagang 1/2, Taman Dagang, Ampang, Hulu Langat here between March 25 and June 29, 2016.
Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof fixed Sept 7 for re-mention.
