Dungun car-trailer truck collision claims life

DUNGUN: A car-trailer truck collision at Kilometre 73, Jerangau-Jabor Road in front of the Bukit Besi Correctional Centre last night ended up with one fatality.
The victim has been identified as Syed Roslim Syed Ali, 26.
The 8.10pm incident is believed to have happened after the Proton Wira driven by the victim who was heading to Bukit Besi from Ajil, spun before veering into the opposite lane.
The car crashed into an oncoming oil palm-loaded trailer driven by M. Zaidy Long, 37.
Bandar Al Muktaffi Billah Shah Fire and Rescue Station chief Jas Wari Awang said six personnel took about 20 minutes to remove the body from the driver's seat.
Meanwhile, Dungun district police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub told Bernama when contacted that the victim's remains had been sent to the district hospital's forensic unit for post mortem.
"The trailer truck driver did not suffer any injuries and a urine test found him negative for drugs," he said. — Bernama
