Ringgit opens higher against US dollar on mild buying interest

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit rebounded from yesterday's decline to open higher against the US dollar today on mild buying interest, dealers said.
At 9am, the local unit was quoted at 4.0570/0630 against the US dollar from 4.0760/0830 on Wednesday.
The local unit, was however, traded mostly lower against a basket of major currencies.
It fell against the British pound to 5.3678/3778 from 5.3355/3459 yesterday and weakened against the Singapore dollar to 3.0034/0099 from 3.0024/0082.
The ringgit depreciated against the yen to 3.8730/8806 from 3.8639/8720 but strengthened against the euro to 4.4899/4981 from 4.4824/4917 previously. — Bernama
