KUALA LUMPUR: Three out of 10 suspects who remain in police custody for investigations in the murder probe of real estate agent Datin Wong Siu Ling, who was killed at Taman OUG early this month will be charged tomorrow.
City CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the trio is expected to charged at the Jalan Duta Magistrate's Court in the morning.
Meanwhile, City police chief Commissioner Amar Singh Ishar Singh said out of the 10 individuals detained, seven suspects will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 109 of the Penal Code while the remaining three suspects will be produced in court as witnesses.
"They will be charged in stages and four of them (suspects) will also be sent to Perak to complete other pending investigations involving them," Amar Singh said in a statement today, adding that the case is officially solved.
Investigators discovered that Wong was murdered over a RM13 million investment she and her businessman husband had made in a ceramic tile business venture.
However, when she failed to see the business take off, she pursued the businessman for the return of her investment but the man evaded her and went into hiding with the cash.
The businessman was among eight people, aged between 26 and 54, arrested in multiple swoops in the city and Perak last Tuesday.
Others arrested were the businessman's wife, a restaurant owner and his wife along with two tow truck drivers.
On July 6, Wong, who was in her car with her five children, aged between two and 13, and a Filipina maid near a row of shophouses on Jalan Hujan Emas 4, was killed when a motorcyclist and his pillion rider rode up to the driver's side and opened fire.
Wong died on the spot from a gunshot wound to her neck while her eight-year-old daughter, who was in the front passenger seat, was critically injured with a bullet slug lodged in her liver and remains warded at the University Malaya Medical Centre.
