New approach for Legal Aid, Insolvency depts to provide better service

PUTRAJAYA: A new approach for both the Legal Aid Department and the Insolvency Department will be introduced soon to enable them to provide a better and more efficient service to the people.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said announced this in a statement issued to mark her first year in office, here today.
She said throughout her first year in office, she was entrusted as the minister in charge of Parliamentary affairs, National Civics Bureau (BTN) and of late, to supervise legal affairs.
"Alhamdulillah, (working) along with the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, the Parliament transformation process is now ongoing and will soon be realised. The rebranding of the BTN is also underway," she said.
Azalina said among other initiatives to be taken were the setting up of the Special Cyber Court and the review of several laws related to cybercrimes.
"I will continue to discharge my responsibilities and stand together with Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak) in ensuring success of the national transformation process to achieve the status of a fully-developed nation by 2020," she added. — Bernama
