KUALA LUMPUR: It was a thrilling outing for some 25 children from Agathians Shelter Home in Petaling Jaya as they were treated to a screening of the Tamil film Kabali at Coliseum cinema here today.
The event was made possible by A. Kogulan, 32, who founded Kogulan Creation, an event planning company.
An ardent fan of Rajinikanth, the movie's leading star, Kogulan said this is the first event to be organised by his company and that he chose to treat the children to the movie as he wanted to make them happy.
Kogulan, who is also a graphic designer and photographer, along with his friends, M. Subramaniam, 28, and A. Saravanan, jointly organised the event.
"We want to give them something unique, something that they have never experienced before," Subramaniam said, adding that they chose Kabali as it was filmed mostly in Malaysia and also due to "Kabali fever" which has hit Malaysians since the movie's release on July 22.
The three are hoping to do more charity events in the future.
Kogulan said he wants the children to watch the movie and learn the message in it, which is to avoid being involved in gangsterism.
He said about RM2,000 was spent on the event.
